Charlie Earl campaign accused of working with ODP to get on ballot

We already know that Charlie Earl chose a 9/11 Truther who channels white nationalists to be his running mate. That alone should discourage anyone from voting for him.

Now, he has been accused of coordinating with the Ohio Democratic Party to gain enough signatures to get on the ballot. From WBNS’s Jim Heath:

A second lawsuit filed by Tyler King of Columbus accuses the Ohio Democratic Party of “organizing efforts to obtain the signatures necessary to assure that the Libertarian candidates were certified to the ballot.”

King charges that Libertarian petition circulators “were supervised, managed or otherwise organized by James Winnett, the LGBT Outreach Director of the Ohio Democratic Party, and Ian James, a long-time and well-respected leader of the Democratic Party in Ohio.”

Another lawsuit alledges that some petition circulators did not follow proper election law.

There will be a hearing on Tuesday, and if there is evidence that Earl colluded with the ODP, he should withdraw from the race. Choosing a fringe conspiracy theorist to be Lt. Governor is bad enough. Working with the Democrats to get on the ballot would be quite another.

It would also signal how desperate Democrats are and what they think of Ed Fitzgerald’s chances in a 1-on-1 matchup.
