Ed Fitzgerald fires his campaign spokesperson

Meredith Tucker has been let go as the spokesperson for the Fitzgerald campaign. As reported by the Dispatch:

Ohio Democratic Party spokesman Matt McGrath will serve that role for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Ed FitzGerald for the forseeable future, replacing Meredith Tucker.

Tucker is employed by Precision Media and the FitzGerald campaign was paying Precision for communications help. McGrath was hired at by Democratic Chairman Chris Redfern for the gubernatorial race months ago.

Tucker wasn’t really doing a bad job, considering who she had to go out and promote as a viable candidate. No, unfortunately for her, Democrats are having trouble generating excitement about Eddy, which has translated into embarrassing fundraising numbers.

When you’re burning through the cash early, and not much is coming in, you start firing staff.

It’s also interesting that for all their talk about diversity, this campaign fired a woman and replaced her with a man hired by all the white guys running the Ohio Democratic Party. Talk about a #WaronWomen.
