Ed Fitzgerald: “I’m a horrible procrastinator”

Ohio Democratic Party Chairman Chris Redfern held a press conference today, and was asked by a reporter the question that we asked yesterday.

Um, did you know that Ed Fitzgerald drove around without a license for so long?

At first, he tried to dismiss the question and offered to take the question privately outside the presser. Then, several other reporters piped up, “I’d like to ask that question also.” Poor Chris was trapped.

He answered that no, he didn’t know. He didn’t check Fitz’s driving record. Then he said what Fitzgerald told him when he asked. Skip ahead to 1:00.

I then spoke to Ed, and Ed said that he’s a horrible procrastinator. He apologized profusely. He said that he couldn’t believe that he put it off that long…off and on…[unintelligible]…he couldn’t believe it. Nor could I.

Well that’s what we need in a governor! A horrible procrastinator!

You know you’re in trouble when “I’m a horrible procrastinator” is your least damaging answer.

Good grief.
