Liberals used Ohio school shooting to trick people into joining anti-gun list

Michael Bloomberg, and Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman

Remember our post about ProgressOhio and Michael Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns back in March? Within hours of the tragic school shooting in Chardon, we reported that they had created a condolence website where people could send prayers and well wishes to the victims and their families. But it was really a scam to trick people into joining anti-gun progressive email lists.

As you can see, rememberingchardon.com has been shut down. Did MAIG act alone in this charade? No. Research on the domain reveals that it was registered by the moonbats over at ProgressOhio. How much cooperation was there between the two groups will probably never be known, but MAIG is still running the same scam in other locations. The email of the person who registered the domain is [email protected]. Maybe you should send him an email and ask him why they thought it was OK to use a tragedy to further their political agenda.

I started receiving the unsolicited emails from MAIG and knew it was because I used the rememberingchardon.com website. I had proof that ProgressOhio created the phony site, and I suspected that MAIG was in on the disgusting scam, but couldn’t find direct proof.

But Jesse Hathaway from Media Trackers Ohio did. He found it in emails he obtained from Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman’s office, who was also involved. Coleman is the Ohio Chairman of MAIG.

In his response, Thompson informed Roberts that he was making “a website right now for condolences and then we’re going to add a guns on campus component later this week.”

“Right with ya on condolences. Explain to me the Guns on Campus thing I need to understand it better,” Roberts replied.

The following afternoon, Chris Kocher sent an email from Bloomberg’s office outlining the response to the Chardon shootings. Kocher noted that ProgressOhio had “Created rememberingchardon.com webpage; will send email directing list to that page and ask them to offer condolences.” Kocher added, “New email acquisitions will be shared with Mayors Against Illegal Guns and a small subset of these names will be shared with OCSGV [Ohio Coalition Against Gun Violence].”

Those are exactly the two email lists that I was subscribed to after sending my condolences through the site. They never did follow up with the guns on campus component, probably because we called them out with our suspicions immediately.

Within hours of a school shooting where children died, these cretins were jumping at the opportunity to use it to their political advantage. Even worse, they did it in a most despicable and underhanded way. They fooled people.

They lied to people and told them they were sending condolences to the victims, when in reality they were unknowingly signing themselves up for anti-gun propaganda. The blood was still fresh, but they were already scheming to take advantage of people who wanted to comfort others.

Of course, we’ve seen in the past that progressives don’t let the truth get in the way of their radical agendas. But this was especially repugnant, even by their usual standards. ProgressOhio and Mayors Bloomberg and Coleman should be ashamed of themselves.
