Nina Turner shows that she is not qualified to be Secretary of State. Again.

ninaNina Turner has to be the worst candidate for Secretary of State that we’ve seen in a long time.

Why?

She’s running for the position that would put her in charge of Ohio’s elections, but has shown a repeated pattern of ignorance of voting law and a willingness to break it.

Take today for example. Joe Vardon of the Columbus Dispatch reported on a letter she sent to supporters on how to turn in their absentee ballots.

The Democrat running to become Ohio’s chief elections official apparently has given her supporters some bad advice on how to return absentee ballots.

To return a completed absentee ballot, the email tells supporters they can “can drop it off at your local polling place or mail it in to your local Board of Elections.” However, the first part is incorrect.

Absentee ballots may only be returned to county boards of elections, not to the local schools, churches and public buildings that constitute most “local polling” locations on Election Day.

Turner should know that you can’t take your absentee ballot to your local polling place. It must go to the board of elections, either by mail or in person. She wants to run our elections and doesn’t know this. Unbelievable.

Equally sad, and hilarious, is how Democrats tried to cover for her.

Angélique Roché, campaign manager for Turner, said the instructions in the email are correct because “for the purposes of early voting, your polling location is your local board of elections.” She declined to say why the email appeared to make a distinction and would not answer questions beyond a prepared statement.

Yeah. By “your local polling place”, Nina REALLY meant “the Board of Elections”. Riiiiight.

Let’s recap the other reasons that Turner is grossly unqualified to be Secretary of State.

Maybe instead of creating a goofy fake website encouraging herself to run for Secretary of State, Turner should have spent some time at the real SOS website to learn how elections take place in Ohio.
