RIP: Fitz-Kearney 2014

After weeks of speculation, it’s official: Eric Kearney is no longer on the Democrat gubernatorial ticket for 2014:

State Sen. Eric Kearney announced Tuesday afternoon he would not seek the Democratic Party’s nomination for lieutenant governor for the 2014 election.

Kearney’s announcement followed weeks of news reports of his family’s financial problems including nearly $1 million in tax liens against him, his wife and their publishing business.

This comes almost exactly two weeks after we first posed the question, starting a conversation that ultimately culminated in one of the biggest gaffes of Edward FitzGerÖrld’s pathetic gubernatorial campaign.  Looks like the campaign killed a few trees unnecessarily with this one:

I wonder if these signs will end up on E-Bay?

Now, the only question that remains is whether or not Fitzy’s campaign manager, Nick Buis, will be the next one shown the door.
