My early favorite for president in 2016 is easily Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker.
Why? There are several reasons.
First, he walks the conservative walk.
Upon his election in 2010, he put together a budget that erased a looming deficit and did it largely by fearlessly taking on the powerful public-sector unions in a traditionally blue state. He’s lowered taxes in Wisconsin. He rejected Medicaid expansion.
Further, Scott Walker wins.
Here is a conservative Republican who has won a blue state 3 times in 4 years. Unions and Democrats nationwide have thrown everything they had at him, especially during their attempted recall. And he won. He didn’t do it by acting like a Democrat, either. Rush Limbaugh made this point earlier in the week.
He has demonstrated you can beat them, win, and win big by being the exact opposite of what they are. Which is, in fact, who we are. We are the exact opposite of the American left. He has not tried to be a little bit like them. He has not tried to steal some of their language and incorporate it so as to be less offensive. He took them on right between the eyes and beat ’em back. He has been fearless.
As a governor, Walker also has executive experience. He also enjoys the support of both tea-party republicans and the so-called establishment.
He has shown that he knows how to win and how to get results.

If I had to vote today for our nominee, my choice would be Scott Walker.
