Nobody except Steve Kraus, and Third Base Politics, here and here.
Tonight it happened.
With 95% of the vote in, Kraus has 51.2% of the vote to Redfern’s 48.8%.
Tonight I met 2 lifelong Democrats who are also union leaders, UAW and CWA, whose territory covers Redfern’s district. They both confirmed that their unions endorsed Democrats statewide, but NOT Redfern. They were happy to see him lose and fed up with how he has run the Ohio Democratic Party.
And now The Port Clinton news Herald is reporting that Redfern will resign as Ohio Democratic Party Chairman.
PORT CLINTON – Chris Redfern said he will take a step back from politics by resigning his position as Ohio Democratic Party Chairman. He said he will resign from the position within the next few weeks.
A political newcomer being investigated in connection with a burglary ousted incumbent state Rep. Redfern tonight.
A few hours earlier, however, Redfern told reporters he planned on continuing as chairman.
“I was elected to a four-year term just under eight months ago and I’m looking forward to electing the first female president of the united states in two years.”
This has been an excellent night.
P.S. Redfern’s wife also lost her race for State Board of Education and his brother lost his bid for State Rep.
