Kasich campaign on the cutting edge…

Earlier this afternoon, John Kasich was joined by Mike Huckabee for a town hall forum on Ohio State’s campus.

But it wasn’t just any town hall.

Streaming on their KasichforOhio.com website, a reported 5,000 people tuned in to watch Kasich and Huckabee answer questions from their college-aged audience, as well as via twitter, the Kasich website, and e-mails.

Surrounded by a set-up that showed the campaign already in October 2010 form, Kasich reiterated his support for an income tax phase out and a restructuring of state government. And once again, the candidate showed his ability to mix substance with style in communicating his points to the audience.

After speaking to a friend in Huckabee’s camp, they came away thoroughly impressed with the Kasich operation, how well the event was run, and the innovative way they are working to communicate directly to Ohio voters.

For those that showed pessimism about Kasich ‘starting late’, events like these and his current lead in the Rasmussen poll have shown his campaign to be well ahead of the curve.
