One of the main thrusts of the Tea Party movement was simply to be heard. For too long, representatives in government had a deaf ear to the will of the people.
Well, finally someone in Washington is listening.
From the Cleveland Plain Dealer:
“…Republicans in the House of Representatives unveiled a new social networking-type website today at www.americaspeakingout.com that’s designed to solicit legislative ideas from the public and host online debates over those ideas. … Participation on the website will be incentivized by a points system. Republicans took the opportunity to boast of online superiority over Democrats. Washington state Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers said that since January 2009, the ratio of House Republicans on Facebook has grown from 37 to 79 percent, the percentage on Twitter has grown from 28 to 64 percent, and the amount on YouTube has grown from 56 to 89 percent.”
So many of us like to complain about never being heard.
Well, now you have a direct line of communication to share your frustrations and your ideas.
You want heard? Go to http://www.americaspeakingout.com. No more excuses.
