This was supposed to be the quarter that Brunner showed some real fundraising initiative.
With Fisher having a poor showing with bringing in $550k, it showed donors had become a little less confident in a Fisher win. That left the door open for Brunner, right?!?!
Brunner reported raising about $144,025 during the first three months of the year, up from $92,588 in the final quarter last year. But after spending $125,743 for the first quarter, her cash on hand as of March 31 increased only from about $61,000 to $79,131, her report shows.
So Lee Fisher has almost 23 times as much as Jennifer Brunner to spend on his Senate race.
And yet, he’s still widely considered a loser.
This isn’t a Democratic Senate Primary. It’s a confederacy of dunces.
Considering Fisher will have relatively nothing left in his tank after the Ohio primary, the DSCC might as well let this one go and focus on the races it can win and defend the seats that are under serious attack by the GOP.
