Redfern Forgets Talking Points; Accidentally Throws Fitz Overboard

In a recent interview with the New York Times, Ohio Democratic Party Chairman Chris Redfern attempted to throw Ed Fitzgerald off the ship.

“I’ve never met a former FBI agent who doesn’t have a driver’s license,” Redfern told the Times’ Trip Gabriel, who described the exchange as a figurative finger pointed at FitzGerald. “It’s akin to saying, ‘Damn, I should have my umbrella’ after it rains.”

Fitzgerald is limping to the finish line.  Redfern isn’t even going to pretend to carry him there anymore. After a humiliating past few months, any hopes the Democratic Gubernatorial nominee had of winning are crushed.

Secretary of State nominee Nina Turner is trying to remain positive. The strength of the top of the ticket often drives the success of those below him.  Since Fitzgerald’s campaign now only awaits it’s epitaph, Turner is hoping for a pyramid scheme approach to voting.

“Voting from the bottom to the top: That is the way we need to roll this year.”

It’s likely Redfern’s reign as ODP Chair won’t last much longer than Fitzgerald’s campaign.  Redfern’s failure to vet Fitzgerald has essentially neutered the Democrat’s statewide ticket earning him lots of scorn.
