Steve Stivers, the GOP candidate for the OH-15 seat currently held by Mary Jo Kilroy, is out with a new youtube slamming the incumbent for her vote on raising the debt ceiling.
It looks like they’re taking a play out of the Obama/Kasich/ORP playbook by bypassing the media and taking their message straight to the voters. By utilizing youtube, these Ohio candidates are never going to get the huge number of hits, but they’ll do two things very effectively:
- Their base of supporters will have the satisfaction of hearing straight from the candidate’s mouth.
- They’ll help shape the message in the media. Take a look at how many in the MSM covered Kasich’s youtube response to the State of the State. No one had ever done anything like that before, and it worked.
Here’s hoping the Stivers campaign keeps the heat on Kilroy. As we’ve discussed before, she’s an extremely vulnerable target and with enough cash she’ll be out of her seat come January.
