Joe Hallet’s column in the Columbus Dispatch this Sunday had one sentence that defined why Ohio is in the mess it’s in today.
By necessity, Strickland’s fourth State of the State speech was anything but bold. There is no money for boldness.
Mr. Hallett, with all due respect, a real leader does not need to spend taxpayer dollars to be bold.
Boldness comes from making the tough decisions that will put Ohio back on track. That means restructuring government and cutting the waste.
For far too long Ohio has been suffering thanks to the political maxim that once a government program is created, it’s virtually impossible to get rid of it.
Well, enough is enough.
Let’s show what real boldness is about.
