“We Are Ohio” is an allegedly moderate group formed expressly to kill Senate Bill 5. According to the marketing message on their website,
We Are Ohio is a citizen-driven, community-based, bipartisan coalition that has come together to repeal SB 5, the unfair attack on employee rights and worker safety. We Are Ohio includes public and private sector workers and employees, police officers, firefighters, teachers, nurses, pastors, small business owners, Republicans and Democrats, local elected officials and business leaders, students, Moms, Dads, family members, and your neighbors.

If it’s not immediately clear why reality (see source workbook) is devastating to the We Are Ohio campaign, refer back to the group’s name! Their populist banner exists to hide the fact that opposition to union reform is driven by the unions – predominantly from D.C. If We Are Ohio is not “a citizen-driven, community-based, bipartisan coalition,” nothing else they say carries much weight… and not merely because they’ve been proven liars right out of the chute.
Senate Bill 5 restores power to Ohio taxpayers at the expense of union bosses who get rich increasing the cost of government. Think We Are Ohio is about “safety,” “worker rights,” or “The Middle Class?” Think again.
